What is Common Core?

The US Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are vertically aligned learning goals that range from K - 12. The CCSS prepare children for college ready, business centered 21st century by developing areas of mathematics and English language arts. The CCSS contain specifc, clear guidelines of what each child should know in each grade level in order to be successful learners. These standards, created in 2009 by a group of teachers, are internationally recognized and have been adopted by the majority of US states.
